I'm excited to hear so many good things about me paintings that I thought you might like a closeup view and a little HOW TO... I used two different sizes of DRY ERASE BOARD TAPE and regular house paint. The tape went down first on the white canvas, no real pattern and definately no straight lines (I'm a rebel!). Then I started painting with the burnt orange going about half way. Then while the orange was still wet I started on the other end with the dark brown, then gradually blended them in the middle. Off with the tape once it was dry and viola .... x3! Oh and since the paint ran under some of the tape I decided to sandpaper the entire painting to draw your eye away from the imperfections and give the whole piece a Rustic Feel.

Nice to know the "how to" on this. Since this really cool project probably exhausted your fresh ideas and your creative side needs a break, I won't look for anything new HERE for awhile... (inside joke)

Funny DAD. I plan to blow up the blog with projects now just to get your goat. Get Your Goat? Who thought of that silly saying? I suspect you'll look it up now and get back to me. Won't you? If not you one of the other Hansons just may.
I'm diggin' those paintings. I've always wanted to try some abstract art like that. By the way, when you get tired of looking at those in 6 months, I'll take em off your hands.

I can't believe the abuse you take from your rellies! I, being your favorite aunt, have a dignified comment about your great creative paintings!!!!!!!!!! They are fantastic and I appreciate you highlighting them so I can see how they are done! BUT...What the heck is dry erase board tape...can I use duct tape instead?
I hope to do some version of this when we are down in Phoenix in Feb!

dry erase board tape is used on dry erase boards to make grid lines. I don't know if they still make the stuff but i have a ton of it in several widths. Any tape will work but most tapes are much wider than the tape I used. Good luck!
